“We know what we are, but not what we may be” - William Shakespeare
More About Sara
She/Her/Hers
I believe that the relationship is key in therapy. I am known by my clients as warm, humorous, caring and compassionate while still being direct and providing challenge, when it's helpful. I genuinely find humans interesting and am perpetually humbled and impressed by their resilience and tenacity.
I use an eclectic approach to therapy that integrates relational, humanistic, and psychodynamic theories while utilizing some mindfulness, meditation, and psychoeducation. I aim to always provide a safe, nonjudgemental environment with the hope of making it easier for us to explore difficulties, navigate emotional disturbances, and identify patterns from the past to the present.
I attained my Master's degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA which has greatly informed my therapeutic style. "The Self as Instrument" is Lesley's jam and I am very much a product of this. I often utilize humor to connect with others and strive to create a space in the therapeutic relationship that feels safe enough to explore historically "unsafe" feelings.
It's hard to seek help and support, especially in these times. I am so grateful that you've made it here. If you have any questions about my methods and philosophies, or think we might be a good fit, please feel free to get in touch today!
